Tony is shown into Pepper's new office by Bambi Arbogast her receptionist. Starks relationship with Pepper is at an all time low following his drunken behavior at the party. Telling him to get his things and leave, Stark spots that the diorama of the Stark Expo his father created holds a surprise, taking it home he finds it holds the design for a new element.

Bambi became executive assistant to Tony Stark, head of Stark International following an interview that she attended, st the same time, Iron Man was battling Whirlwind, unaware that Stark was Iron Man, Bambi calmly handled calls calls and rescued items in Starks office from damage. Iron Man was able to defeat Whirlwind when Bambi distracted the villain with a phone. Star hired Bambi following this. Bambi became one of the most important employees at Stark International and became friends with James Rhodes.

Vanko escapes as Black Widow relinquishes control of Rhodes suit to him Pepper finds out that Stark was dying.

Vanko appears in his own suit Rhodes attempts to use Justin Hammers bunker buster and it fails spectacularly. Stark and Rhodes use their repulsor beams to destroy Vanko's suit but he has a final trick up his sleeve setting himself and the Hammeroids to explode
