PHASE 1: Part 2 - Agent Carter Season 1







Character History

Agent Carter first appeared, as a wartime love interest of Captain America in Tales of Suspense #75 and #77 by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby.  Carter appeared again as the older sister of Sharon Carter in Captain America #161. She was later retconned as Sharon's aunt. 

The character has appeared frequently in Captain America stories set during World War II.

Now Is Not the End

Synopsis

In 1946, Peggy Carter is now a secretary for the Strategic Scientific Reserve. Howard Stark asks her for help when he is accused of selling deadly weapons to their enemies.

Jack Thompson was a decorated soldier who became a hero despite holding a dark secret about his service. He became an agent of the S.S.R after the war.

Introduction of Agent Daniel Sousa played by Enver Gjokaj





Bio
Daniel Sousa is a former soldier who fought during World War II. He was discharged from the military following an injury, he later joined the S.S.R where he was determined to prove his worth in spite of his disability.

Bio
Angie Martinelli worked in a cafe in New York, as a waitress.  She becomes Peggy's close friend.  Angie is an actress, she auditioned for many roles, including the part of Betty Carver in The Captain America Adventure Program but lost the role

Bio
Edwin Jarvis was the butler and ally of Howard Stark, and helped Peggy Carter in her mission of clearing his master's name. Over the years, he served as a support figure to Tony Stark through his childhood until his death, resulting in the young Stark paying tribute to him by naming his A.I. system J.A.R.V.I.S.

Bio
Howard Stark was an inventor, engineer, movie director, businessman and founder of Stark Industries. During World War II he worked on various government projects, including the Manhattan Project and Project Rebirth, and helped the S.S.R. fight against HYDRA. He constructed the second shield of Captain America, and after the war he found the Tesseract, whilst searching for Captain America.

Bio
Anton Vanko was a scientist who worked with Howard Stark at Stark Industries. They created the first Arc Reactor together.

Bridge and Tunnel:

Synopsis

Howard Stark's deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson?



Peggy and Jarvis team up to clear Starks name and find his missing inventions

Time and Tide

Synopsis
As Agent Carter closes in on Howard Stark's stolen technology, Peggy's secret mission could unravel when the SSR arrests Jarvis and a secret is revealed.

Dotti Underwood is a resident at Peggy's apartment complex who hides a secret.

Episode 4: 

The Blitzkrieg Button
Peggy may be in more trouble than usual when fugitive Howard Stark suddenly returns for mysterious reasons. And Chief Dooley chases a new clue all the way to Europe that threatens to destroy Peggy's future at the SSR.



At his request Peggy retrieves one of his most dangerous items that was stolen from Stark, the Blitzkrieg Button now at the SSR headquarters, a device that can cause an eternal blackout, but realizing Stark is hiding something Peggy opens the device to find the last remaining vial of Captain Americas blood proving that the never ending task of recreating the super soldier serum did not end with Steve's death

After failing to extort Jarvis for smuggling Stark back into the US, Otto Mink attempts to eliminate Peggy as revenge for her helping Stark but he encounters Dottie Underwood who's training proves way too much for him to handle.  Having been trained under the same program as Black Widow, the similarities are evident,

Episode 5: 

The Iron Ceiling
Carter finally gets a chance to prove herself as she is sent on a mission in Russia with Agent Thompson and the Howling Commandos. Meanwhile, Agent Sousa makes an important discovery.

The horrors of Dottie's Backstory in The Red Room are revealed in flashbacks to her as a child which will reflect the nightmare that Black Widow will have to endure many years in the future.

On her mission to Russia Peggy enlists the help of the Howling Commandos, Steve's team from WW2 to help them safely reach their destination.

Thompson's dark secret is revealed after he cowers in fear during the fire fight he confesses how unbeknownst to him he murders a squad of surrendering troops during the war and kept the lie when he returned home to a hero's welcome.  Thompson had struggled to talk about his actions until then.

Episode 6: 

A Sin to Err
 Carter believes that the spy that stole Stark's technology is a woman. The SSR now knows that Carter is helping Stark. There's a new spy in the agency.


Sousa visits the jailhouse where McFee is being held and he positively identifies Carter as the woman who assaulted him and took the Nitramene.

We start to see Ivchenko ability as a Powerful hypnotist as he begins to learn about Dooley and his family life and his past in the military. Dooley starts to fall into a trance but its broken when Sousa arrives.

While trying to recover the Blitzkrieg Button Peggy tries to avoid capture by the S.S.R. but is surprised at the reveal that the Red Room operative she has been hunting is her neighbor Dottie who knocks her out using Peggy's own S.S.R. lipstick, leaving her unconcious and waiting capture.

Peggy is taken to an S.S.R. interrogation room, where she is handcuffed to the table, Dooley tells the team not to go easy on her.

Episode 7: 

SNAFU
Peggy is cornered and more vulnerable than ever as Leviathan makes their move against her. As the SSR moves in on Howard Stark, they may pay the ultimate price as they find their true enemy is closer than they realized.


Ivchenko now known to be Johann Fenhoff reveals his true plan, to use Dooley's help who is now under his control to steal Item 17 also known as Midnight Oil, a name assigned to the deadliest and most brutal of Stark's confiscated weapons.

With the distraction of the SSR agents attempting to capture Dottie Fenhoff escapes the SSR leaving Dooley in a dream trance.  when the Agents return Dooley is strapped into an unstable invention of Stark's and one that will explode if not deactivated.  Unable to stop it in time Dooley sacrifices himself to save his team.

Wanting to test out Item 17, Fenhoff and Dottie take a canister of the Midnight Oil to a movie theater to test the results,

Episode 8: 

Valediction

 Peggy faces the full fury of Leviathan, as Howard Stark makes his return.

Following the massacre at the movie theater Stark reveals what happened when the Midnight Oil was used at the Battle of Finow and how his invention was stolen and used against without his knowledge resulting in a horrific incident. while trying to bait Fenhoff to appear Stark is kidnapped by a police officer under Fennhoff's control.

Fenhoff has decided that his revenge against Stark is not killing him for his brother's death but to trick Stark into deploying the Midnight Oil over Times Square on the anniversary of V-E Day and watch as the city is destroyed by his hands. but just as Stark begins to fly a plane, Carter's team arrives.

Following the fight with Dottie, Peggy tries to talk the hypnotized Stark from releasing the Midnight Oil over New York as Jarvis follows in a plane ready to shoot his friend down if she fails, in the melee Dottie escapes.

Having stopped Fenhoff and finally receiving the respect from her colleagues Peggy decides to throw Steve's blood into the river under the Brooklyn Bridge as a final respect to the man she loved.

The closing scenes of the season shoe Fenhoff his mouth forced closed to stop him from trapping anyone else in a trance is locked in a cell.  He has a cell mate in former Red Skull scientist Arnim Zola, where the two begin to plot.
